XNX is a gas dispersion transmitter

The XNX gas dispersion transmitter from Honeywell can be installed in a wide variety of environments, including petrochemical plants. The XNX is universally compatible with other gas-monitoring instruments from Honeywell Analytics, as well as third-party and industry-standard PLCs. Its robust mounting options allow instrumentation based on various sensing technologies to be attached locally, or remotely using appropriate accessories. The XNX transmitter’s internal components facilitate digital communication and protect the transmitter from potentially dangerous electrical misconnections. The XNX meets HART and Fieldbus Foundation functional safety standards, which make it suitable for hazardous locations.

The XNX has 5 cable/conduit entry ports, each with its own mounting points. Each sensor has its own cable/conduit entry, and the relay wiring can be routed through any of these. However, the signal and reset lines should not share a cable/conduit entry. The behavior of the XNX is dependent upon the sensor types attached to its interface. XNX EC toxic and Oxygen sensors use the IR personality

XNX EC toxic and Oxidizer sensors use the IR personality. All other mV signal input sensors use the mV personality. XNX EC oxygen and toxic sensors use the EC personality. Searchline Excel open path and point infrared gas detectors use the IR personality. In order to install an EC sensor in your environment, you need to install it on a power source dedicated to the transmitter.

The XNX EC sensor is a highly serviceable, stainless steel sensor. It can accept a variety of plug-in sensor cartridges. The intrinsically safe design of the XNX EC sensor allows for hot-swapping. This eliminates the need to obtain a hot work permit and reduces the cost of ownership. The XNX EC toxic and Oxygen sensors are available in a wide range of configurations and ratings.

XNX EC toxic and Oxygen sensors use the mV personality

XNX offers three basic personalities to match different types of sensors. Transmitters are fitted with personality boards and optional output interfaces that determine the behaviour of the sensor. EC toxic and oxygen sensors use the EC personality, while Searchline Excel open path and point infrared gas detectors use the IR personality. These personalities enable the sensors to work optimally in hazardous environments.

EC sensors are compatible with any mV transmitter. The mV personality board is designed to support a wide variety of transmitter options. Each transmitter can communicate with up to five different types of sensors. This flexibility allows for flexible configuration of toxic and Oxygen sensors. The mV personality board supports multiple sensor types. It also supports a variety of communication protocols, including XNX-MDA, BACnet, Modbus, and Profibus.

XNX IR personality

The XNX universal transmitter is a low-maintenance and highly flexible transmitter that can work with other safety equipment such as third-party gas monitoring controllers and industry-standard PLCs. The transmitter can support electrochemical and infrared gas monitors and is compatible with both HART and 4-20 mA wiring. XNX mV personality

The mV personality is a wireless sensor with a weatherproof cover. It can also be remotely mounted. To get the most from this transmitter, make sure that all connections are properly isolated and meet the IP66 protection standard. The XNX Universal Transmitter can support up to three different sensor types. For more information about the various sensor types, see the table below. In addition to the transmitter’s sensor capabilities, you can also add or delete a HART address or mode.

The XNX Universal Transmitter is easily configured by navigating its menus or using the front panel display. It offers visual status and alarm levels. In addition to the full scale, you can see the current concentration level and alarm level. You can also set a custom alarm level in the XNX Universal Transmitter. It supports all popular flammable gas sensors and is compatible with many third-party transmitters.
