Honeywell Chlorine Gas Detectors

With an XNX Universal Transmitter, Honeywell Analytics provides a flexible transmitter that accepts input from Honeywell’s wide range of gas sensor technologies. The transmitter provides an extensive set of industry-standard output signals. These features are subject to change without notice. The user should consult the manufacturer for the most current information. These features are not necessarily all-inclusive, however. You should use the information in this article only as a guide to choosing the right gas detector for your needs.

XNX provides a common transmitter interface to all of the detection technologiesxnx

The XNX gas detection platform supports a wide range of sensors, including electrochemical, halogen, and ionization detectors. Its modular design allows users to select inputs and outputs that fit their needs. The system supports industry-standard PLCs and Honeywell Analytics gas detectors. In addition, XNX is intrinsically safe, making it suitable for a variety of applications.
Fixed gas detection systems are available in ATEX-compliant versions. The most basic fixed gas detectors feature 4-20 mA outputs. Advanced models are equipped with alarm relays and digital communication. Honeywell SensePoint detectors are designed to monitor gas concentrations in ATEX zones. Drager’s Polytron 3000 detector is dedicated to monitoring toxic gas concentrations.

Reflex(tm) technology increases operator confidence in a gas detector

CETCI’s line of chlorine gas detectors features loop powered, 4-to-20-mA connections. These devices are suitable for new and retrofit installations, and feature easy-to-read LCDs and intuitive interfaces. Some models have fault-diagnosis software to simplify maintenance procedures. Moreover, they are built with intrinsically safe smart sensors that can be replaced without shutting down the system. Some models even feature a remote sensor mounting kit that allows installation 15 meters away from the transmitter.
Chlorine is a sticky gas, and it easily sticks to the calibration tubing. A chlorine gas detector should have Teflon-lined calibration tubing, or at least one meter or three feet in length. This prevents gas saturation and weakens the concentration of the gas entering the sensor. A CETCI chlorine gas detector never includes a splash guard. The splash guard interferes with the accuracy of the sensor. In addition, moisture in the air is corrosive, resulting in hypochlorous and hydrochloric acid.

Class 1/Class 2 intrinsically safexnx

The XNX transmitter meets intrinsic safety requirements for use in Class 1 and Class 2 industrial processes. Its enclosure is made of stainless steel or aluminum with a marine-grade coating and includes five threaded ports. It has ruggedized mounting options and can be connected to instrumentation locally or remotely. Honeywell products reduce fire risks and provide early warning of flames. They can be used in a variety of applications, including chemical plants, hospitals, and more.
The XNX Universal Transmitter supports multiple sensors, including IR, electrochemical, and toxic gas monitors. The transmitter has four M25 entry options and an integrated HART adapter for configuration. The XNX transmitter supports multiple detection types, such as an IR CO2 sensor or an MPD IR CO2 sensor. Honeywell offers a wide range of intrinsically safe gas detectors.

Honeywell offers an explosion-proof XNX transmitter with intrinsic safety rating of Class 1/Class 2. It is available in stainless steel, aluminum, marine-grade coating, five threaded ports, and ruggedized mounting options. The transmitter can be attached locally or remotely to instrumentation using appropriate accessories. Honeywell’s chlorine gas sensors can help reduce the risk of personnel injury by providing early warning of fire.
The mPower UNI MP100 is a single-gas detector that measures chlorine (Cl2) from 0 to 50 ppm. It features an LCD display, six red flashing LEDs, and an Audible Alarm Port. The Prosense PC3-6924 includes a Nickel Plated Brass sensor head, 4–20 mA Analog output, Modbus RS-485 communication, and optional relay outputs.
