The XNX Honeywell Universal Transmitter is a high-spec universal transmitter designed to work with a wide range of Honeywell Analytics local and remote gas detectors. It detects both toxic and flammable gases and is suitable for hazardous Zone 1 and 2 areas in North America.

XNX Honeywell’s XNX transmitter satisfies Class 1/Class2 intrinsic safety, explosion-proof requirements, making it a smart choice for hazardous environments. Designed to meet the highest standards of safety and reliability, it comes with a marine-grade coating and stainless steel or aluminium enclosure. It also features five threaded ports with either metric or NPT threads, offering ultimate installation flexibility. In addition, the XNX transmitter is equipped with a 4-button user interface and a DOT matrix display.

The XNX Universal Transmitter supports a wide range of gas detection technologies, including infrared, catalytic and electrochemical sensors. Its flexibility enables it to integrate with safety equipment using a digital bus system. In addition, it supports up to three relays and is compatible with HART handheld devices.

HART EDDL communication

EDDL is a standard for describing a device and the process it uses. It is similar to XML or an HTML web page, but unlike these formats, there is no need for a developer to know how to write a program to use it. EDDL is standardized in IEC 61804-3 and IEC 61804-4, and contains profiles for different fieldbuses.

Honeywell has developed the XNX Universal Transmitter with HART EDDL to support the broadest range of gas sensors on a single platform. With modular inputs and outputs, it enables flexible integration and is compatible with various gas monitoring controllers and industry-standard PLCs.
